I made a thinking error on my front axle side washers. No need at all for those. I cannot lift the front wheel in its axle and still remove it. Have made a new drawing that will make the axle even simpler. But now I won’t be able to lift the front wheel as I thought before. New ideas needed.

The titanium arrived and I went to talk with Marcel. He smiled and said that if there is one thing he does not like to do it is to work ( turn ) on titanium alloys. But he will be happy to send the bar and the drawing off to a guy in Germany that knows how to do it. I spoke with Kevin Fletcher, my front fork man, on a different subject and mentioned my front axle project and he warned me about using titanium and especially about drilling a hole through the bar. Not enough bending stiffness he says so now I will have the German make me one without the 8 mm hole as well.

This coming and next week we shall see the arrival of the frame, the footrests and gear change mechanisms, the front axle and some hardware that I have ordered today to build up the oil system. Flexible oil hose, hose couplings, weld attachments, Monza filler caps et cetera. I have also ordered the fuel tank, the rev counter and some other bits and pieces from Minnovation Racing in the UK. So, once the frame is here we can design the seat/oil tank assembly and then the only big items that remain to be designed(built(ordered are the exhaust system, the front fairing, the steering damper and I guess a few more bits and pieces that I have not thought about yet like clutch push rod, clutch cable and not to forget:

THE PAINT SCEME

If anybody out there is reading this and has an idea about how to paint the fairing, the tank, the seat hump/oil tank and the frame – then tell me !!!

I have decided on the fairing. It will be this one made by a British guy again ( what else ?) called Spike Livingstone of Ragged Edge Racing. Take out your paint brushes and give it a try! I don’t like flames and similar like the above – rather something conservative displaying the colours of my father land or ???
